Parent and Caregiver Training
Alongside our therapy services, we offer a range of training opportunities for parents and caregivers.
Our parent and caregiver training includes support groups, workshops, information sessions, and evidence-based parent training programs.
These opportunities are designed to provide practical information, build confidence, and connect families with others on a similar journey.
Parent Support Groups
Our parent support groups provide an opportunity to connect with other parents and caregivers who share similar experiences of raising and supporting a child with additional needs. Groups are facilitated by experienced allied health professionals and provide a welcoming space to share experiences, ask questions, learn from others, and access practical information and support.

Parent support groups are offered free of charge to families currently accessing services with Early Bird Therapy. Children, siblings, partners, and other family members are welcome to attend.
Parent support groups are typically held once per school term.
Workshops & Information Sessions
We are currently developing a range of workshops and information sessions for parents and caregivers. These sessions will be designed to provide practical information, strategies, and opportunities for learning on topics relevant to children with developmental differences and disabilities.
Workshops will primarily be offered online, making it easier for families to access training from home. Information about upcoming workshops will be published here and shared through our social media channels.
Parent Training Programs
Early Bird Therapy is licensed to deliver the Hanen Programs® It Takes Two to Talk® and More Than Words®.
These evidence-based programs support parents and caregivers to build communication skills during everyday interactions and routines. Programs are offered when sufficient numbers are available to form a group.
We hope to expand our range of parent training programs over time, including programs such as Cool Little Kids.
